Unlike our French neighbours our remuneration is specifically determined by the Lawyers’ Fees Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz - RVG). We calculate our fee according to the value of the matter, the so called ‘Gegenstandwert’ or ‘Streitwert’.
Occasionally – and certainly not uncommon – we work for you free of charge. This always occurs when you have greatest advantage in a dispute. If we win your case for you, the opponent, in addition to the principle claim, has to pay all court and lawyer fees. This does not apply with labour court actions. In addition to the Lawyers’ Fees Act we can establish our fees with your consent. As well as hourly fees, flat rate charges or consultancy contracts are generally used.
We reserve the right to request an advance payment for our actions. (§9 RVG).
